The Center for Youth Work Association (CYW) organized a study visit to Ljubljana from November 20 to 22, 2024, with the aim of introducing representatives of organizations and institutions from Serbia, Montenegro, and Bosnia and Herzegovina to good practices in the field of preventing the harmful effects of psychoactive substances on young people. The focus of the study visit was on the prevention of alcohol consumption, promotion, and availability to young people, especially minors.
The CYW Association invited participants from the Institute for Public Health of Vojvodina, the Consumer Protection Association of Vojvodina, and the Office for the Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
This study visit was organized by the CYW Association in collaboration with partners from Bosnia and Herzegovina (Youth Education Center) and Montenegro (Forum for Youth and Informal Education).
During the visit, participants had the opportunity to listen to experts from various institutions and organizations, such as the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Slovenia (Directorate for Public Health), the Institute for Research and Development “UTRIP”, the “Youth Health Organization”, the Youth Association “No Excuse”, and the Slovenian Association for Chronic Non-communicable Diseases (SNCDA). The topics covered important aspects of preventing and protecting young people from the harmful effects of alcohol and other psychoactive substances.
The goal of the gathering was to exchange experiences and best practices to improve the strategy for protecting youth from harmful influences and to enhance the effectiveness of measures in these countries.
