Visit of Oriented Monitoring ROM Western Balkans and Turkey expert Gordon Pruvisto the Office for combating drugs
Gordon Pruvis, expert of Results Oriented Monitoring (ROM) Western Balkans and Turkey met in Belgrade, within the scope of his working visit, the Acting Director of the Office for Combating Drugs Milan Pekić.
Topic of the discussion was the role of the Office within the global network for combating drugs, both in Serbia and in the area of the Southeast Europe. Mr. Pruvis put the emphasis to cooperation between the Office and the Ministry of Health, aimed at maximum use of capacities that the Institute of Forensic Medicine disposes with, in the form of modern equipment and machines for sample analysis, high technology, which are among the state-of-the art one in Southeast Europe. The main idea is to make early warning system operational, which apparat from the Republic of Serbia would involve broader region, whereby number of persons and samples for detailed analysis would be statistically increased. Thus, the Institute’s laboratory would become the leading one in the region, and the Office would obtain firsthand accurate date for further operation within its competences. All the aforementioned would contribute to a great extend to the role of the Republic of Serbia and the Office in global and regional network for combating drugs.
Director Pekić expresses readiness and openness for any kind of cooperation aimed at that goal in coming period.
