The Office for Combating Drugs, as well as the Service of the Government of the Republic of Serbia in charge of coordination of drug policies and monitoring implementation of the Strategy for the Prevention of Drug Abuse for the period 2014–2021 as a basic document in this area, carried out – in cooperation with the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction from Lisbon, the evaluation of the Action Plan for the period 2014-2017, as an accompanying operational document for the implementation of the Strategy itself.

The procedure had started in the period of 12-16 June during which interviews with representatives of all important institutions in charge of implementation of the Strategy and Action Plan were published. Based on the information gathered, representatives of the EMCDDA made a report on realization of activities envisaged by the Action Plan. This evaluation is, so far, the most important and comprehensive analysis of the state of play in implementation of drug policy in the Republic of Serbia.

The final report is not only an overview of the current state of play, but also a starting point for creation of the new Action Plan 2018-2021. By evaluating the work of all institutions that took part in implementation of the Action Plan, as well as the assistance provided by the representatives of the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction, the Office for Combating Drugs published this report.
