In order to act together in the fight against addiction, on Friday, March 11 was held a meeting between the director of the Office for Combating Drugs of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Milan Pekić, and representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, led by Bishop Justin Jeremić. The topic of the meeting was the cooperation between the Office and the representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and participation in future activities.
Justin Jeremic is the vicar bishop of Hvostan of the Serbian Orthodox Church, and with the blessing of His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Mr. Porfirio, the idea of new projects of the Orthodox Pastoral Advisory Center, which consists of spiritual and secular persons whose support and assistance to drug addicts in Serbia, as well as their resocialization. In the future, Office for Combating drugs for the Government of the Republic of Serbia will support the projects of the section of the Center, with the motive of the joint fight against drugs in Serbia.
