With the aim of improving drug policy, the Office for Combating Drugs signed on the 4th of September 2018 the agreement with Japan South East Europe Business Association (JSEEBA). The agreement on mutual cooperation was signed at the Palace of Serbia. Signatories agreed that agreement provisions would be met in god faith with the aim of further expansion of abuse of psychoactive substances, as well as that they would exchange experiences in the respective filed and strive by joint activities towards further and deeper cooperation. Signing of the agreement was preceded by the ceremony of Japanese Cherries on the 3rd of September 2018, in front of the House of Flowers, as a symbol of establishing good friendly relations between two nations. The event was attended by His Excellency Junichi Maruyama Ambassador of Japan and Mr, Ivica Dačić Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, the President and the Director of the Japan South East Europe Business Association Kihachiro Nishiura, the Chief Executive director of the Japan South East Europe Business Association Madam Yumiko Ishikawa, Mr. Milan Pekić Director of the Office for Combating Drugs and many other officials who attended the ceremony.
